Body Positive Drawing with Illustrator Alisha Davidson | March 25th, 6-8:30
Join illustrator Alisha Davidson for an evening of positive body drawing. We will be focusing on our bodies, setting intentions and creating honest self portraits.
In this class we will look at how drawing can be used as a meditative and healing practice. With some gentle guidance we will learn about the intention setting process and set personal intentions that will help guide and our own drawings. We will first focus on blind contour drawing and the art of seeing/drawing as an act of meditation. Near the end of the evening we will move onto continuous line drawings and drawing our real bodies. Each student will leave with multiple sketches, a final drawing and a booklet of reference information to take home.
This class will exist in a safe space where everyone is encouraged to explore their own art practice regardless of skill level. Negativity, non-productive criticism, and discrimination of any type or form will not be tolerated.
All drawing levels and experiences welcome. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring any favourite drawing materials you would like to experiment with.
