YOU LUCKY PEOPLE - Kristan Klimczak
YOU LUCKY PEOPLE
—The building was all-encompassing, otherworldly and vibrating with history. It was a monument suspended somewhere between past and present and it was slated for demolition.—
Rooted in the haunting reality of impermanence, You Lucky People traces the death of a shared familiar world that existed behind the facade of an independent bargain superstore. With it, I wanted to archive how it feels to lose an integral part of a city and its character. I wanted to explore being with something at the end of its life, what is unearthed when that something, that place, is so tightly tied to capitalism and the paradoxes that surface when our attachments to these places are severed.
